Day 15, Still at Cascade Locks

Today was sightseeing day. This is a beautiful part of the country and the KOA receptionist had pointed out a few highlights . We decided to use Dirks RV as it is smaller and more maneuverable. The primary reason you see RV's towing  cars is to solve this problem. You want to tour or visit the grocery store but you are (a)  hooked up and / or you do not want to take a 30 foot plus RV to a congested area,
First stop was  the famous 611 foot Multnomah  falls. According to American lore, the falls were created for a young princess who wanted a place to bath, The falls are truly beautiful as you can see. Our next stop was a 2 hour Sternwheeler ride  down the Columbia river. The Captain of the ship was born in 1820. His narration volume went up and down in line with his age so we missed a lot. The river is mighty indeed and filled with history, much of is supplied by Lewis and Clark, the famous American explorers.
It was a great day.  Tomorrow we will move on to Longview WA
