Day 16, LongView KOA, Washington State

After our rest days we took a short drive to Long View WA. unusually terraced, this is a neat KOA with trimmed green grass and level pads. As with almost all KOA's they have WIFI and as soon as we connected up the A/C  Water etc, Dirk got himself connected to the world. The world was a good place . But wait, be still my trembling  heart , what was working is now dead, The WIFI is no more. What can it be . We took a walk down to the office and the obviously anxious receptionist told us that an old lady who had a dispute with the KOA ownership had ripped the WIFI cables out ( I am not making this up ! ). Off went the receptionist in her Noddy car ( otherwise called a golf cart ) .
A short while later she re-appeared to give us an update. The Sheriff had been summoned, and soon he called for backup ( after all this was serious - the WIFI was down) . Dirk could not take this anymore and he offered his services . Off he went as a passenger in the Noddy car and disappeared over the hill.  This was becoming bizarre . When he arrived at the scene of the crime, very slowly since the cart batteries were running out,  he found strangely bearded men standing around, all concerned but apparently helpless. The secretary triumphantly declared that she found "a technician from South Africa". Our knight in shining amour went to work plugging and pulling . To the amazement of the now spectators he whipped out his smart phone, held it in the air and declared that  all was well in the nation. The WIFI was back . Now just short of god status, he was delivered back to the camp site, showered with offers of free accommodation.. And you think that our RV-ing is dull !
